Whilst exploring the garden in school, we discovered something suspicious hidden under some plants... ICE EGGS!!!! We discussed what we thought they were, we described them and tried to imagine who they belonged to. We had many super ideas! It turns out, the eggs were an introduction to our new TWAU topic: Polar Explorers!!
To help us remember what prepositions are and how to use them, Mrs Murphy took us outside to take part in some active learning! We had to listen really carefully while she called out different prepositions. We had to then position ourselves in relation to our chairs, based on what she said,e.g. under, on, towards, beside, between etc. It was lots of fun to act out the prepositions! We tried to think of original examples and not copy each other's ideas! We are now preposition experts!
We have learnt lots about being Healthy this week. We had a visit from Cancer Focus and thought all about the effects of the foods which go into our bodies. After listening carefully, we had to go home and create a healthy eating promotion poster. As you can see, we worked really hard and included important reminders like; "5 A Day" and "Beat the Sweets."
We have been using Class Dojo Mindfulness to help us process our feelings and understand anxiety. We sot together and peacefully listen to the instructions in the cartoon. Lots of us feel that the short video helps us to deal with our worries and leaves us feeling calm.
We used an interactive Venn Diagram to help us sort 3D shapes for a range of properties. We discussed each shape and justified where we thought it should be placed on the diagram. We then moved the shapes to see if we were correct. After that, we got into groups and used the Sphero to further develop our descriptions. Miss Radcliffe placed different shapes all over the floor in the corridor and we had to listen carefully to descriptions of their properties. Once we got the right shape, we had to navigate the Sphero to the correct 3D shape. We then took turns to formulate the descriptions of the shapes ourselves and provide these for our partners. They then navigated the Sphero to the correct answers.
Miss Radcliffe got a lovely surprise when she enetered her classroom and her boys and girls were having a wedding party for her!! Mrs Latham gathered together some other lovely helpers who got the room and pupils ready. We all enjoyed crisps ans juice and sang along to our favourite songs. It was a lovely afternoon that Miss Radcliffe says she will never forget. ❤️
The Tharp family visited Seaview again and we were delighted to see them. They sing songs about Jesus and let us sing and dance along with them. We all took turns dancing at the front of the hall! It was so much fun! The Tharps kindly gave us all a CD of their songs before they left!
We havw really enjoyed completing our Take Away homeworks on World War Two. We choose which homework we want from the options Miss Radcliffe has given us. She was so impressed with our creative ideas and how comfident we were when presenting our contributions to the class,
