As part of our learning on 2D shape, Miss Radcliffe introduced us to a Venn Diagram. We impressed her by having some really good ideas regarding how to use it. We worked together in groups to discuss a range of shapes and their properties. We then used this knowledge to best decide where to place the shapes on the diagram. We sorted for the criteria "4 sides" and "curves."
We loved using the Place Value penguins site to help us partition and combine numbers in the hundreds! Miss Radcliffe challenged us by giving some numbers with zero in the tens column, but we knew what to do!
Huge congratulations to this hardworking and well mannered young man who was one of the first pupils in the entire school to be invited to Hot Chocolate Friday in Mrs. Latham's office!!! He even got to eat some yummy donuts! This was in recognition of him being FANTASTIC and going above and beyond in all that he does. He is the first person in Year 4R to see his name on our class "Above and Beyond" board. If we all make it onto the board, we will win a really special class prize. Who knows when the next invitation will arrive...
We have been enjoying our first week in Year 4. Miss Radcliffe has told us that she expects us to work hard and that's just what we have been doing. In Numeracy, we have been revising Tens and Units. We used Base Ten Dienes apparatus to physically create numbers and exchange units for tens. Later, we even exchanged tens for a hundred!
Congratulations to our first Model Pupil of the school year! This boy was chosen for wearing his uniform very smartly and with pride. Well done!
