As part of Science Week, W5 representatives visited Seaview to teach us all about planets! They carried out lots of experiments and we got to be involved! It was great fun as well as very exciting!
For TWAU homework this week, we were set the task of designing and creating our very own planet! We had to use a planning sheet to record the name, size, shape, inhabitants etc. Then, we had to make it! As you can see, we put a lot of effort into our work. Mrs Murphy loved how creative we all were!
As part of Literacy Week, we worked with our friends in Year 2B. We sat together and the Year Twos listened to us read a story to them. We really enjoyed going through the stories. Not only did we read, we also asked the younger boys and girls some questions too. Working with them was so much fun! Our teachers have said we can work together again in the future! We can’t wait!
We loved dressing up for World Book Day! Mrs Murphy didn’t recognise us when we arrived at school! Even though we were dressed up, we still had plenty of work to do. We carried out a science investigation with Mr Stewart. It was all about different types of forces. We tested various objects to see if we could twist, push, pull or squeeze them.
Another fun activity on World Book Day was getting to use the green screen with the hot air balloon. We looked like we were travelling up, up and away!
We are so excited to have Mr Stewart in our class. He is training to be a teacher so he teaches us some lessons each day. We are really enjoying learning from him.
Mrs Murphy gave us multiples of five and we had to find the number needed to bring those multiples up to 100 or £1. It was harder than it seemed. We had to remember things like 55 + 45 = 100 and not 55 + 55! We enjoyed practicing using the mini whiteboards.
We really loved learning about polar areas! Mrs Murphy gave us a penguin project to complete at home. We had to include five sections; Introduction on Antarctica, How Penguins Survive the Cold, How Penguins Look After Their Eggs, How Penguins Escape Predators and What I Think of Penguins. Mrs Murphy loved reading our projects. She was extremely impressed with our fantastic efforts and creativity! As you can see from our photos, we are very proud of our work too!
We had so much fun working with the boys and girls from our partner school. We draw ourselves in each other's uniforms to seewhat we'd look like. While working, we discussed similarities and differences between our schools. We discovered we have a lot in common. Working together was great! We're already loooking forward to the next time!
Whilst exploring the garden in school, we discovered something suspicious hidden under some plants... ICE EGGS!!!! We discussed what we thought they were, we described them and tried to imagine who they belonged to. We had many super ideas! It turns out, the eggs were an introduction to our new TWAU topic: Polar Explorers!!
